More About OATH
Oak Ash & Thorn Hub is a project that weaves together the passions and projects that Katie and Francesco wish to share with the world.
They do so by creating spaces and holding events, courses and opportunities for groups to gather, most often in nature. They aim to create a space to learn, have fun, connect and and experience the importance of nature connection and conservation, community wellbeing and intergenerational support as well as reclaiming and reviving Celtic spirituality and rituals in daily life.
Everything hosted under OATH’s branches aim to:
Support psycho, emotional and physical healing at an individual and collective level
Sow and nurture the seeds for a cultural shift to transit through today’s difficult times & move toward an evolution of love, community and re-connection to nature
Remember and honour the sacred in all things, and the importance of treating all beings with respect (i.e. sustainable foraging and living in balance with the world)
Provide a platform of integrity to raise awareness, and support the repair of, key societal and interpersonal issues rooted in toxic patriarchy, colonialism and spiritual bypassing
We do that by drawing from practical skills, years of courses & personal study/practice, professional and grassroots involvement in society, and our ongoing experience working with respectable teachers, elders and earth keepers of integrity.
We trust in, and feel nourished by, a deep connection to something bigger than ourselves, and this sustains our work. We see our project as a small yet key piece of a much broader network and weaving that is happening worldwide.
Roslyn - a magical place
What makes OATH extra special is its location surrounded by the magical forest of Roslyn, one of the most ancient, native and stunning patches of undisturbed natural forest in Scotland.
Roslyn is also famous for its esoteric and magical connection to the Rose Line ley line / song line.
Roslyn chapel was built here for that reason and it isn't just a building, it's a work of art, with every inch covered in incredibly detailed carvings and symbols! It dates back to the 15th century, when it was founded by the Sinclair family, who lived in the area.
OATH’s ceremonial and esoteric, nature based and Celtic work, draws some of its unique strengths from such intriguing, healing and powerful location.
We have visited the area for over a decade, and lived here for most of the past five years. Over this time, we have both nurtured a relationship of deep respect and reciprocity with the land, the forest and all beings (visible & invisible) inhabiting it.
Having built such a loving bond and deep connection, we feel a strong call to be nature’s advocates and stewards. We always ensure that all of our practices and activities are in a harmonious, reciprocal and balanced relationship with the land (i.e. leave no trace, sustainable foraging, conservation work and giving offerings to the land)

The Symbolism of OATH branches
-
OAK - DUIR
The oak symbolizes healing and protection along with prosperity and luck. Through its deep root system and longevity, it provides a strong foundation for holding space and the duir/door to world’s unseen.
-
ASH - UINNSEANN
The ash tree represents prophecy, prosperity, and protection and is also recognized as The World Tree for the Celts. This tree supports all creatures and represents the cycle of birth, growth, death and rebirth, the forces that make up life’s journey. It is a strong symbol for community.
-
THORN - SGITHEACH
The Thorn, Hawthorn, symbolises fertility and growth. It is associated with happiness and sacred to fairies. It is abundant medicinally as well as providing food and shelter for animals all year round. The hawthorn tree is thought to help us experience spirituality and encounters with elemental beings.
